So, you are relying on "it has to be true. someone told me so?"

End of discussion..

Plecos need a wood source in their diet to be healthy.. Saying "I know people that kept them without wood" Means nothing, Plecos are hardy creatures and hard to kill.. They need wood.

How long have you been in the hobby??

I have been in the hobby and worked in the industry for over 33 yrs. Closer to 35. RB has the same amount of experience, if not more..

no its not. they eat algae and vegies. wayyy easier to digest compared to meat. thats why panaques need the wood bc they eat the meatier foods. bristlenoses may benefit from the wood but its not absolutely needed for them to live unlike the panaques. im not argueing anymore if you cant accept that that info is. right bc your ego is too big then thats your poblem.

what they are saying is that you shouldn't discount what other people say when they have more experience than you do. there is nothing wrong with learning from other people and spreading information that way, but when there are numerous other people that have a conflicting fact to yours, maybe they have a better idea as to what they are talking about than you do. that said, you should really only use other people's opinions and findings to bolster your own experience...research from experts that have written books helps as well.
