Tiny Freshwater Fish-Discussion Thread

Does it not load? You can't post comments/load the third page(nothing really important on there) as said, but if it's not loading....

It doesn't load for me. I get a white screen as it is attempting to load but it doesn't shoe up. I'll try it one more time. I had tried it a few days ago and had the same issue.

Edited to say, I just tried again and it does not load. I just get a white screen with the thread info at the top but nothing else.

Let me try it in Explorer. I'm on AOL and sometimes that causes trouble.

Hey peoples! I'm sorry I have not been updating much, and will continue to be slow with the updates because I have linear algebra this summer. Here is a picture of the swamp guppy micropoecilia picta, which grows to 1-1.5 inches. They don't breed as fast as guppies do, though. A distinct species, they come from the same range.

haven;t found much info on these guys yet.

The Pseudomugiil Rainbows

P.cyanodorsalis. This little guy is for a brackish tank. Grows to 2.5 cm and likes harder water.

P_furcatus_GS.jpg

P. furcatus may or may not be, since they can grow up to 2.5 inches but are usually smaller. I can't find out whether or not they school. Likes harder water.

Pseudomugil ivantsoffi-grows up to 3 cm! Likes harder water. Adorable! I can't really find any websites on it besides this one: http://www.members.optushome.com.au/chelmon/ivantsoffi.htm

Pseudomugil mellis in the wild is found in waters of 4.4-6.8 PH, but can adapt up to 7.5. Reaches only 3-4 cm (basically an inch).

I have had some Xray Tetras and Albino Xray Tetras living happily in a 10gal plus I have a pair Platignum Sailfin Mollies and a Pair Red Platys all happy in another 10 gal tank

Sailfin Mollies grow up to 6 inches and reach at least 4-much too large for a 10 gallon. 10 gallons seems a bit too cramped for the tetras-however I will probably post that up in the future for debate. I think most people would agree, though.

However, I do have to thank you for reminding me that the common molly isn't on this list for some reason. Heheheheheh.....that's bad.

Schizo, have you thought about putting Dario dario (Scarlet Badis) on there? They don't always require a heater, breed easy(from what I hear, I can't find any females atm), don't like strong currents, they top out at 1 1/2in (for a giant, most 1" or less), and the males are straight up gorgeous.
