well....gonna do another ram spawn.....

Man those are beautiful pics emg, nice fish. Mine all died, I don't know what went wrong, my only thought is the HOB filter creating too much current? I think next time, I'm going to leave them in with the parents and see if they survive, if they get eaten, then I'll take note of aproximately when that happens and take them out at about that time the next time around. Btw, glad to hear that yours are doing so well.

I'm sorry to hear that your's didn't Ray.... :(

Try a sponge filter next time. YOu can start seeding it now and it should be good for the next time you get a batch. Also, if you aren't too sure there is enough micro food in your tank for the fry.....rinse off a lettuce leaf and put it in a jar of water in the sun. After a few days you'll notice the water getting cloudy. That's infusoria. The cloud will follow the light...and hang where it's strongest. You can syphon some of that into the tank for some "first food" for your fry..and you can add it as soon as they become free swimming.

Looking good Emg. It's funny, my pair look almost exactly like your pair... I wonder why... :D

Lol Bawlsy....I wonder.....

Well, woke up this am and.......no babies were left in with mom and dad. Either the filter intake got them.....the guppies, the shrimp or ....mom and dad...lol. I didn't expect them to last, but I did think they'd get a bit farther than that...oh well.

The others in the fry tank are doing fine thus far.

An updated pic of a few of the older fry hanging out by the heater...thier favorite spot.

makes me want to spend 100 bucks on a 29g kit after i get my 55g for my bday so i can get rams.

the 55g is getting a dempsey

Well, you don't need a 29.....I have another pair in a 20Long who are doing very well...in fact, they are the parents to this batch I have now. I always look around for used tanks. Most of the ones I have I picked up for nothing. The only ones I paid for were the 29 and one of my 15s.
