What Works for Me May Not Work for You

1. No Chemicals of any fashion
2. No Carbon
3. Any kind filter as long as it works
4. Weekly water changes
5. Feed 1-2X daily for 6 days
6. Stocking by whatever works

My wife and I were doing WC's tonight and i looked up at two of our small Angel tanks and decided to take inventory. 2 -10 gallon tanks with 100-110 dime /nickel size fish in each tank. (do not try this at home ) we are playing with fire .:evil_lol:

And not one cull so far , I will be moving them into a 50gallon bin tomorrow

1.Change out only 15% of water, but every 5 days or so.
2.Not a fan of sand substrate unless you count ecocomplete.
3.Don't test water unless I am bored.
4.Too cheap to use carbon
5.Dedicated bucket hauler. (Only 70 gallons of water though)
6.Don't use meds. Salt much cheaper and more likely to work.
7.Seldom quarantine new fish

There are many ways you could double (or more) that. All it takes is a little know how. :headbang2:

Have never owned a test kit.
Do weekly 85-90% water changes on all tanks.
I'll do a mid-week water change if I want the tank to look good for company (90%).
Forget to feed them all the time.
Overfeed when I do (so I feed at night when so the filters can clean up the cloudy water)
I clean my filters with hot water straight out of the tap.
I own one 15W heater for the fish in the garage.
I use tons of carbon.
I make DIY sponge filters with a pond replacement pad and an airstone for the smaller tanks.
Own one net for minnows. Have never caught my goldfish with anything but my hands.

  • Do a 50% water change every weekend
  • Feed every 12 hours
  • Lights out when I wake up and Lights on when I go to sleep
  • Only test when a fish dies
  • Never owned a Pleco
  • Dont vacuum but instead comb through the substrate with hand and sweep around water with a brine shrimp net to catch uneaten flying food and feces.
  • Haul buckets
  • Plastic plants only

I love UGF-but am not using them right now.

I always **always** use carbon. Can't clean the filter if I'm out of carbon.

I generally run my tanks at higher temps

I never feed the fish the same thing. Gotta mix it up for them.

hey pops...do your angel fish LIVE in those ten gals????? i might have to try that!
