Have a 350 gallon pond outside my Breakfast room window. Nothing real fancy but lots of plants. Lots of small comets and 2 frogs. We were recently hit by a long legged white bird. It took all but one of my large Comets (8") about 7-10 fish. Now I only have 12 small comets. Starting over!! Soon to add 3 Butterfly KOI and a three stripe Mud Turtle Named Bogie. A story for another time...
Well I have a container pond. It's about 80 gallons and I usually keep about 2 or 3 goldfish in it. I did keep it running over the winter with my large goldfish in it. The goldfish did survive over the winter. He's about 6 inches I think.
I have a 400 gallon raised pond with Shubunkin, Red Comets, Mosquito fish, and some Rosie minnows. It has cinder block sides and has a liner dropped inside. I have umbrella plants, hyacyinth, anacris, a water lilly, and a small willow tree in it. I have had oak barrels that poured into the other. The top barrel acted as the filtration, as the bottom barrel had the pump to move water back to the top barrel. Cotton batting was used in the top barrel as filtration, and had water hyacinths growing on top. I had about a pair of shubunkin and some mosquito fish in the other 2 barrels.
Very nice GINNY. If I ever win the lottery, my setup would be similar. I'd hate to have your electricity bill. lol. thanks for sharing your pics. What kind of fish you got besides the KOI?
Wow Ginny that's fantastic,:thm: wish I could have one that "small" for the time being I'll stick to my "large" one which is 4'x4'. I just have a few goldfish, shubumkins and 1 sturgeon.
