I am only asking this because I hear alcohol is produced in the process and I am only 15.

I'd say "No". Just dispose of the brine safely when you change it. Offering it for sale or for consumption would be illegal, not to mention cruel and unusual.

You'll understand once you get a whiff of some old brine...

Dangerous, or illegal? I doubt it. The alcohol produced from the sugar/yeast/water mix is undrinkable, and may contain some methanol.

You are producing it, not distilling it. It is not even drinkable.

on the contrary, it may be unpalatable, but not undrinkable... it wont produce methanol so is perfectly safe. a nice 5 gallon bucket of crushed black berries.some yeast sugar and a bit of water you got co2 for your tank and a nice glass of wine to enjoy while your watching your plants grow

Yeah I'm gonna pass on the wine because I am only 15.

LOL i hear ya jspigs... i didnt in any way mean that you should be drinking. i have a 13 year old grandson that i hope never takes up the habit.. but to answer your question no its not dangerous nor is it illegal

Weird. Over here in Europe most 15 year olds wouldn't think twice about a couple of glasses.

Not exactly behavior that is condoned in certain places here.

Alcohol is the devil...:grinno:
