Most filters provide enough surface movement that air bubblers are not needed...they are mostly just for looks if you like bubbles in your tank.

I just do it the old fashioned way...I do cup my hand around it so my mouth isnt directly on the end of the hose...Python hose is clear so you can see the water coming before you get a mouthful ;)

This means to take the sink adaptor off and just run the hose out a door to drain your tank... You will get alot more suction when doing a gravel vac than you will by hooking the Python upto a faucet...plus you will not waste water this way since you have to have your faucets on full blast to...

I also drain mine out the door....much more suction than hooking it to the faucet...Only time it is on a faucet is when I fill my tanks up.

Mine leaks at the gravel vacuum tube end where the off/on valve is.....so when I have the Python stuck in my tank to fill it water will slowly drip out of the valve onto the floor...I have tile and wood floors where my tanks are so I place a towel down on the floors to catch any water that drips...

It shouldnt hurt anything..... I dose mine right before I turn the Python to the fill position after I have got my water temp out of the faucet equal to that of the tank. Dose for the total volume of the tank and not just the amount you are replacing.

Mine has just started doing this too...drips alittle when filling...I just keep a towel under it

Well tell us a ballpark figure on what you want to spend.... You can also look on Craigslist in your area ( http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites.html ) and find some really good deals...This would be your cheapest route to get a bigger tank for the same price or less than a store would sell...

Petsmart .... It is high though.. $24 for a 20lb bag which is enough to have a good 2" thick layer in a 10g. But if you goto Big Al's ( www.bigalsonline.com ) and print off the page showing thier price which is like $15 you can take it to Petsmart and they will pricematch it and give it to you...

You have to have a source of ammonia to cycle a tank....Either pure ammonia,a raw shrimp or add fish and do a fishy cycle...But pure ammonia is your best option as you can dose it more precise and you dont have to worry about damaging or killing fish like you would a fishy cycle. The product...

one feeding a day is all any of my tanks get...then they usually get bloodworms once a week on water change day as a treat for me bothering them ;)
