I had tried 3 bulbs in my betta tank too..They grew..but only fuzz and white nasty looking mold spots. Fished them out, performed a 75% water change (the moldy junk freaked me out) and let me tell you, these things stunk so bad. Bleh!
yeah, I know what you mean. One of the aponogeton bulbs sprouted a a few days ago, and it's longest leaf is about 3" already! They grow fast once they start!
Here are my two "mystery bulb" plants. i have no idea what they are..what they're going to be..all I know is that the one wedged between the driftwood is massively tall.
how are everyone's bulbs doing? OMG, the aponogeton bulb ( the only one growing out of 7), has been really grwing like crazy! there is a shoot growing from the middle, I think it's going to flower, but it grew 5 inches in the time I was at work today....in about twelve hours time...wow!
I got two packs of each to put into my 72g... a week later (yesterday) I had to take them out. One of my fish died, and a few more look like they are one their way out
:-( The ones that didn't start growing had fuzzies on them. I took them and a water sample to the fs and they had me get furazone-green. I hope no more die... has anyone else had this problem?
The lily bulbs I put in my tank got very fuzzy and clouded up the water so I took them out, they were all moldy inside. The others have not sprouted yet, but are not fuzzy at all, so I'll just keep them in for now.
I don't know what the deal is, but the two bulbs that lived are starting to "offshoot" huuuge long stalks - for lack of a better term. So long in fact, that they're now either pushing out of the water into the cover or bending across the tank.
