first tank ever. 12g mini-reef.

ya see that tiny rock by itself? it'll probably fit where the sponge is. can i add it like that or must it be 'rubbled' ? :) i was thinking of setting the carbon in for 2-3 days since i had used treated tap water... i plan to find RO water before doing anything else with the water. i'm sure the guy at this small LFS can hook me up, although i wouldn't by any livestock from him.

:OT:
his tanks are horrible. did i mention that he was taking HANDFULS of dead freshwater fishies out of a filter inlet when i visited? he's a long time of experience, but it all looks like bad experiences to me. got an anenome in one tank and is proud of it, but i think it's not so healthy, but again... i'm new at this.

Congrats on starting in Saltwater. It's a true joy to see the biological diversity. Plan on a learning experience!

You have a 240gal with only 1 fish? What's the cleanup crew cleaning up? :)

Tiny has gotten himself stuck in the same spot of LR twice now. while poking around to get him out of the crevice i knocked some rumble off my main rock. it's weak in so many spots. i could prob get a lot off of there. should i try to break free the loose stuff? won't be enough for filter usage. let the few pebbles stay in the sand or pull 'em out? hrmph!

No I have a more than one fish lol  hmmm lets see. I have....
