I received a ton of great info In my 1st post here at AC
I will be referring back to when I do go out and about for plants.

So far we’re still sitting at one total loss. The guppies are all fine and acting like I am starving them. ( lightly feeding yes... starving far from it ?)Dont forget to watch the fish too.!
Well slowing down is not in my other half’s language. Hehedon't expect for higher nitrates, hope for less ammonia and nitrite. if they are good, so is your cycle.
the amount of bacteria in your aquarium will roughly double in less than a day, until there is no more food (or nitrogel compounds) for them to consume, a bit like pest snails.
I'd get a bigger filter.. but shop around and slow down. it will be OK. !
I haven’t received it yet. But based on a lot of reviews from both Marineland and amazon the lights themselves are sensitive to moisture and it seems to be a design flaw. And they tend to break quickly. being just stock lights. I didn’t expect much. But after reading they break fast. I started thinking of what would be a good bar in addition. A lot on amazon comes off a bit gimmicky ( is that a word?)Is the Marineland led lid so bad you need additional lighting? For the plants the type of lighting doesn't matter much (except brightness) but if you are a person that likes natural colors in the tank it does.
I read about Light strips In other threads but didn’t have further info. I will check them out now. Ty. That’s exactly what I was thinking no sense in tossing the whole thing.Ok I get it. Look for a SMD 2835 6000k or 6500k led strip, it is the best quality light you can get and is cheap, it's a tape so you just stick it over the led in the lid. With power adapter probably in the $20 range. Would be a shame to have to get rid of the hood just because the light fails (but that is what you get with leds)
