Setup for Corydoras Eques (species only)

Not 100% if you mean the swords or the hydrocotyle...

Plants in this tank:
Hydrocotyle leucocephala
Echinodorus yellow sun
Echinodorus red oxelot x2
Vallisneria americana
Cabomba caroliniana
Frogbit
Lettuce

It's the hydrocotyle. I recognized the sword as such. Thanks. I like the way it looks. I'll have to research care requirements.

Not a super fussy plant, just don't plant it in the substrate, tends to melt where it's planted. I tend to either hook it or tie it to the driftwood with fishing line. Will tuck it on itself to keep its form too.

Otherwise, easy plant. Low to high light, likes some liquid ferts once in awhile. Leaves will go yellow if nitrate deficient, so its pretty easy to tell

Your hydrocotyle looks better than mine ever did! I may have had h. tripartita, everyone did once, lol. It was a nice almost ground cover until it stretched up looking for lights &/or ferts. Yours also seems like maybe it's not so delicate, I'm remembering easy to tear leaves & weak stems...

Welcome to AC Hexo. I'm trying not to junk up NoodleCats cory thread too much more (forgive us Noodle). But maybe we'd both be/have been better off trying ours attached to wood like NC does...I dunno.

We should probably discuss this in the planted tank forum instead of here, Hexo. I'll start a new thread there now...see you there? hydrocoytle tripartita? | AquariaCentral.com

Hydrocotyle leucocephala is a lot easier than hydrocotyle tripartita.
Leucocephala is still easy to tear leaves though, but stems pretty strong as long as it's healthy

You don't have CO2 injection right? I see your jungle val is as annoying as mine. I have it in a 120 (2 ft high 4 ft long) and have a few leaves that escaped being cut that are over 8 feet long. I mean it is not a bad plant but food (even sinking pellets) get trapped in it so pia to constantly have to clean out rotting food.

Still really nice tank. That is a 20 long right or is it a 40B or something else ?

No CO2 for me on any of my tanks lol
It's a 20 gallon long.
My vals were pretty long, finally got around to trimming them tbh lol
