How long do I keep my betta in the hospital container after treatment?

I'm sorry too. You really worked hard & did all you could

Thanks... Yeah, was treating him for a while and then I moved him back to the main tank and then he just started sulking around the bottom and I didn't know what to do. My lfs, fish specialists who were helping me out as well at the time offered to try and help. I kind of gave up, all that treating and yeah, so why not. Apparently he perked up a bit but then declined and stopped eating... She said they always look better before they die.. At least we tried.
I did a home cremation for him.
This is the last photo I took of him, wasn't doing well...

I have him with a leaf from his favourite silk plant that he would sleep on, so he can sleep on it now.

Youre a really loving, caring and good person/keeper for your fish and I respect that <3
When i lost my most favorite female sword, and my all 5 bettas, I wish i could keep them somehow :(

can i ask how you have cremated him?

Yeah, I looked it up, basically followed these instructions:

"1. Place the fish on a piece of aluminium foil and on a cookie sheet and put them in the oven on 200-250 degrees, starting at 15 minutes. Keep in longer if needed. You need to make sure you dry out the fish as much as possible.
2. Once dry, take them out and put them on a plate and let them cool for a few hours.
3. Take an old pot that you don't mind a fish being in, and build a fire. Make sure the fire and embers are nice and hot, place the pot on the hot embers. This will take several minutes.
4. Once it gets to a certain point, you may need to gently press the fish to create more ash than char.
5. Once you have the ash consistency you want, remove from the fire and let the ashes cool COMPLETELY before bagging or placing in jewelry."

I used a BBQ instead of building a fire, it works just as well, probably even easier. My Mom had a tiny terracotta pot that we used or him. I knew I couldn't just bury him, I wanted to keep him with me.
