Newbie raising some fish

Ok, so my tank is doing much better from what I tested. High PH is 7.4, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 0, let me know.

You shouldnt have 0 nitrate. Those are readings indicative of a brand new never cycled tank.

You didnt accidentally get any untreated water in your tank did you? You may have crashed the cycle. You should have a spike in nitrate if you have zero nitrite at this stage. You dont have enough plants to soak all your nitrate up.

Youll need to keep a very sharp eye out over next few days. I have a feeling your cycle has crashed and youre back to square one.

You can get zero nitrates with a heavily planted enough tank, but I don't think this is the case here.

Try following the directions for the nitrate test to the letter, especially where shaking the reagents are concerned, or take a water sample elsewhere for a second opinion.

It's best to be sure, rather than just confident.

Now, my main question is, I have a Home water filter it removes about 96% of chlorine from my tap water in all my house. How should I treat this with the water conditioner when doing WCs?
Water conditioner does more then just that.
I use a few things to cycle my tanks quickly.
On the fist question. Guramie are fairly big. As are the algae eaters. Seems alot for a 40 gallon. Mind u size depends as well. I use grow tank system for my showcase tanks.
1 thing i can suggest for a tank like that is a small powerhead. Maybe for a 20 gallon. Thus will help mix the water and create waves on the surface. This helps mix air into the water as well. Always helps with larger fish in a smaller tank.

What about a air bubbler. I have that with two lines. ?

You certainly can if you have the hardware, want to use it and like the look and sound of bubbles. The bubbles themselves don't effectively do the oxygenation. It's the surface disruption that does the oxygenating.

If I drop an air line into my tank it's there to "power" a filter, like a sponge filter, etc.

I have one line for the bubblers, and one line for the turtle shaped green filter. And I put the filter on medium flow. Anything else?
